  • Professional Mental Health Coaching

At West Georgia Christian Counseling, Professional Mental Health Coaches (PMHCs) offer biblically grounded, clinically informed support to individuals navigating challenges such as anxiety, trauma, addiction, or life transitions. PMHCs are trained, non-licensed professionals who provide client-centered, faith-integrated care within a clearly defined ethical scope of practice.

Coaches work alongside clients to set goals, overcome barriers, and strengthen emotional, relational, and spiritual well-being. While not a replacement for therapy, mental health coaching complements clinical services by offering practical tools for daily living, especially during times when clients are stepping down from therapy or no longer meet diagnostic criteria for insurance-covered treatment.

Using a holistic and forward-focused approach, PMHCs support clients in building resilience, regulating emotions, and applying evidence-based coping strategies. They often collaborate with licensed counselors to ensure continuity of care, helping individuals experience lasting growth and greater life satisfaction.

  • Child & Adolescent Counseling

Guided by biblical principles, our counseling service provides Christ-centered support for children and teens grappling with grief, attachment issues, trauma, and behavioral challenges. Our therapeutic interventions are rooted in a child-centered approaches, utilizing methods such as play therapy and sand tray therapy to facilitate healing and growth in alignment with their unique needs and circumstances.

  • Parent Consultation

We understand the complexities of parenting in today's world. We offer biblically grounded consultation for parents and foster parents, providing a safe space for receiving support and guidance.

Through a lens of both Scripture and developmental psychology, our consultations are designed to equip parents with the tools and insights they need to navigate the challenges of raising children in a manner that aligns with their faith values.

Whether you're facing behavioral issues, struggling with communication, or seeking guidance on fostering a nurturing home environment, our consultations offer practical wisdom and compassionate support to help you thrive as a parent.

What is the difference between Professional Counseling and Professional Mental Health Coaching?

Professional counseling is a clinical service provided by licensed therapists who are trained to diagnose and treat mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and more. Counseling often involves exploring past experiences, processing trauma, and addressing deep emotional or psychological issues using evidence-based therapeutic interventions. These services are typically covered by insurance and follow strict state licensing regulations.

Professional Mental Health Coaching (PMHC), on the other hand, is a non-clinical, goal-oriented service provided by trained coaches who offer biblically grounded, clinically informed support. PMHC does not involve diagnosing or treating mental illness. Instead, it focuses on helping individuals improve daily functioning, regulate emotions, and pursue mental, emotional, relational, and spiritual well-being. Coaching is especially helpful during times of transition—such as stepping down from therapy, managing stress, or seeking personal growth.
